thoughtfulness
Considering the threat posed to the exposed, oak framing members many precautions were taken to minimize impact: the roof is of corrugated metal and has deep overhangs, sills are flashed with copper, beams have been treated to discourage insect infestation and sealed against the weather, and all building shims are made of plastic.
salvage
Intended to look like a repurposed, old farm structure, the pavilion is a finely crafted mortise & tenon construction from reclaimed Pennsylvania barn timbers.
